I never planned to build a career around inclusion.
Whenever I had stepped into that world, the typical diversity and inclusion efforts didn’t feel right to me.
They felt fragmented. Like we were fixing things for one group, at the expense of another.
It wasn’t until my son was diagnosed as autistic, and I started experimenting with neuro-inclusive design principles in the workplace, that it finally clicked.
Here's why neuro-inclusive design made sense to me:
➡️ It’s universal. It doesn’t require someone to disclose a diagnosis before you adapt. It works for autistic, ADHD, introverted, and neurotypical team members alike.
➡️ It scales. These practices don’t fix one thing for one person. They shape environments where everyone can contribute their best thinking.
➡️ It’s good for business. Neuro-inclusive teams are more innovative, more adaptable, and better at problem solving. They boost both wellbeing and productivity at the same time.
When we build teams where different neurostyles thrive together, we create work environments where inclusion and performance grow hand in hand.
